Touching down in Los Angeles, Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards ignited excitement as they kicked off international promotions for their record-breaking movie “Hello, Love, Again.” 

Star Cinema and GMA Pictures shared snapshots of their arrival on Instagram and the post instantly fueled anticipation among their overseas supporters. 

Now showing in over 1,000 theaters globally, the sequel to the 2019 hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye” – where Bernardo and Richards reprise their roles as Joy and Ethan – has made history, breaking records in North America.

Its opening weekend grossed approximately $2.32 million, becoming the highest-grossing Filipino film debut in North America.

The movie ranked eighth among the weekend’s top-grossing films in North America, a remarkable feat for a Filipino production.

The film’s success spanned nearly 250 cinemas, drawing in diverse audiences.

A strategic marketing campaign amplified this reach, targeting Filipino American communities while also resonating with Asian American, Hispanic and general moviegoers.

The promotional push capitalized on the massive fanbase of Bernardo and Richards, in collaboration with ABS-CBN’s TFC and Cinema One, and further boosted by an engaging social media campaign.

The result? Packed theaters and widespread acclaim for the Cathy Garcia-Sampana-directed sequel.

In an Instagram post, Richards expressed his gratitude saying, “It was all worth it, every step of the way! Our Hello, Love, Again journey became memorable and meaningful because of each one of you.”

For perspective, the original 2019 film earned around P116.7 million in North America throughout its entire run—a milestone the sequel shattered in just one weekend.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, “Hello, Love, Again” soared to P245 million within its first three days, further solidifying its box-office dominance.

The film, which first premiered in Philippine cinemas on Nov. 13, has already reached P520 million as of press time.
