Around 40 schools in Delhi received a bomb threat mail on Monday morning. As per police officialshappy day, the sender of the mail threat demanded USD 30,000 from school authorities.

Following the scare, Delhi schools suspended their classes and urgently sent students back home.

As per a report by news agency PTI, the threat was sent in a single e-mail marked to prominent schools across the national capital such as - DPS RK Puram; GD Goenka, Paschim Vihar; The British School, Chanakyapuri; The Mother's International, Aurobindo Marg; Modern School, Mandi House; DPS Vasant Kunj; Delhi Police Public School, Safdarjung; DPS East of Kailash and Salwan Public Schools.

As per officials from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the first alerts regarding the bomb threats were received from DPS RK Puram at 7:06 AM and GD Goenka Paschim Vihar at 6:15 AM.

Officials from the DFS added that bomb detection teams, fire officials, local police and dog squads responded immediately and conducted searches at the schools.

As of 9:30 AM, nothing suspicious has been in the schools, however, operations are underway.

Who Sent The Email?

As per sources, the email was delivered to the schools at 11:38 PM on Sunday from the id - [email protected].

"I planted multiple bombs inside the building. The bombs are small and hidden very well. It will not cause very much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs detonate," the email read.

"You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs. If I do not receive 30,000 dollar. The group =E2=80=9CKNR=E2=80=9D is behind this attack," the mail added further.

This round of threats to schools comes months after over 200 schools across Delhi NCR revieced similar threats.

In May 2024, over 200 schools, hospitals and other important government installations across Delhi and the NCR region received a similar kind of bomb threats. However, as the threat mails were sent using Virtual Private Network (VPN)happy day, the cases are yet to be solved.
