MANILA, Philippines — Some roads near public cemeteries in Manila have been closed as the country observes All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Portions of Aurora Boulevard, Blumentritt, Retiro and Maceda streets, Dimasalang Road and P. Guevarra street surrounding the Manila North Cemetery will be reopened on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.

Motorists visiting the dead at the Manila North Cemetery may park along P. Guevarra, F. Huertas, Oroquieta and Simoun streets.

Visitors should traverse Cavite, Leonor Rivera and Makiling streets to avoid closed roads. Trucks should pass through Yuseco street.

Around 850 police personnel will be deployed to secure four cemeteries being managed by the Manila city government.

Of the number, 400 police personnel will be fielded to the 54-hectare Manila North Cemetery, 300 to Manila South Cemetery, 100 to La Loma Cemetery and 50 to Chinese Cemetery.

Over one million visitors are expected at the cemeteries.

Meanwhile, the number coding scheme was lifted today and tomorrow by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

Makati will suspend its number coding scheme at noon today.rbet win
